SentriLock broadens its Sumo Logic implementation to help drive its migration to microservices and Kubernetes
-
Challenge
SentriLock continually enhances its software systems to better command the millions of its electronic lockboxes distributed across hundreds of thousands of locations. Among other responsibilities, this entails steadily porting a monolithic real estate application to an updated microservice architecture, deploying solutions to the cloud, and turning to Kubernetes to coordinate activity.
-
Solution
The company standardized on Sumo Logic’s cloud-hosted solution to gather machine data from legacy on-premise applications as well as newer cloudhosted resources. SentriLock’s technical staff members created their own extensive collection of dashboards to help manage operations. After a brief initial deployment, the company widened its Sumo Logic utilization to incorporate its Kubernetes features.

Results
Machine data and related analytics have now been normalized across the organization, making it possible for SentriLock to retire its older log management tool. This saved considerable time and operational costs and reduced the number of moving parts to manage. The company’s cloud computing staff, software developers, and data integration specialists all benefit from a single source of truth regarding on-premise and cloud-hosted assets alike.
